The Eloise Copper Mine

The Eloise Copper Mine project, located in Queensland, Australia, involves the extraction of copper and gold through both open-pit and underground mining methods. The operation uses advanced technologies and modern infrastructure to efficiently access and manage the mineral resources. By focusing on resource optimisation, the project contributes to the global supply of copper and gold.

The Challenges

The Eloise Copper Mine Groundwater Monitoring Project faced numerous challenges due to its remote location, which restricts regular maintenance access and lacks consistent power sources. The extreme site conditions, including intense heat, dust exposure, and frequent heavy rainfall, present risks to equipment longevity.

To meet safety standards, the system requires constant, accurate data collection without interruptions. Real-time alerts are essential for quick responses to any groundwater fluctuations, while the system must be self-sustaining and able to function autonomously for extended periods due to limited maintenance opportunities.

What We’ve Delivered

Sixense implemented a robust, autonomous solution to address these challenges. A solar-powered system ensures consistent energy, while a reliable gateway allows continuous data transmission to Beyond Monitoring, even in a remote setting. Durable, weather-resistant equipment was selected to withstand harsh conditions, reducing maintenance needs.

Real-time data access and automated alerts integrated into Beyond Monitoring enable proactive risk management and provide instant notifications if groundwater levels change. Automated reporting further streamlines the process, keeping stakeholders informed without manual data collection. The system’s design is optimized for long-term, low-maintenance operation, providing ConeTec and AIC Mines with a resilient and efficient groundwater monitoring solution at the Eloise Copper Mine.
