Auckland Light Rail Project

The Auckland Light Rail project will be a 24km route with up to 18 stations. The trail line will start at Wynyard Quarter traveling underground to Wesley/Mt Roskill and will have the capacity to move over 17,000 people at peak.
The City Centre to Māngere line, serving as the foundation of Auckland’s light rail network, will eventually connect the North and Northwest regions, benefiting the entire city. This line will link two significant employment centres and improve accessibility for communities along the route, particularly suburbs with limited public transport options.
The Auckland Light Rail team is a collaboration between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, the Ministry of Transport and Kāinga Ora.

What we’ve delivered

Currently, the project is in the investigation and planning phase, and Sixense is actively monitoring the groundwater using piezometers placed across the city, stretching from Auckland’s CBD to the airport.
A site-wide radio network was established to read the instrumentation, which works in conjunction with wireless self-powered dataloggers. This setup enables the collection of real-time data from the piezometers in a cost-effective and reliable manner. Subsequently, the collected data undergoes automated processing and is directly uploaded into the Beyond Monitoring database, eliminating the requirement for human intervention. Convenient access to the monitoring data is provided to the client through the Beyond Monitoring platform.
